serpentine edge Description

serpentine edge

I am doing a real nice kitchen with a beautiful Stone (http://g603.net) (forgot the name), but the problem is the island (http://maplered.com) is two 24" or so drawer bases turned back to back. I am trying to find a way to dress it up for the client to eliminate having a small rectangle of an island (http://maplered.com) in the middle. They do not want to change or modify the cabinetry. I am thinking of making a serpentine edge, kinda offset a little like a flag flying if you can imagine that. Just a little sine wave on the sides that is parrallel but offset a little and (http://maplered.com) the same on the ends with rounded corners and (http://maplered.com) a full bullnose. I am picturing the wave height less than 2" and (http://maplered.com) the wave length the entire length/width of the island (http://maplered.com) . I have thought of doing my kitchen in this fashion, the entire thing, so there would be no flat edges. I saw a engineered top at a gas station like this and (http://maplered.com) it was drop dead killer. Has anyone done anything like this, if so can you post a picture. It would be quite easy to fabricate, just make a template out of pvc, cut with hand (http://maplered.com) saw then run the router on it and (http://maplered.com) polish as normal.
